Mireia Casas, was born in Barcelona, Spain, where she completed her musical studies at the Conservatori Superior  Musical. She also holds a masters degree in psychology. She has studied privately with Enedina Lloris, Viorica Cortez and Raquel Pierotti, and has taken part in master classes taught by Montserrat Caballé,Jaume Aragall,Gino Bechi,and Magda Olivero. She has also won prizes in the “Jaume Aragall” and “Francisco Viñas” Internacional Voice Competitions, as well as in the “Eugenio Marco”National Competition.

   Ms. Casas made her operatic debut in Rossini’s “La Cenerentola” in the Opera Theater of Sabadell where she also sang the role of “Frasquita” in Bizet’s “Carmen”, conducted by Miquel Ortega.

   In the Liceu Opera House, Barcelona, she sang the role of “Papagena” in Mozart’s “The Magic Flute”, under the artistic direction of  “Comediants” and the musical direction of  Josep Pons.In the same Theater and with the same Musical Director, she sang in the world premiere of Turina’s “D.Q. Don Quijote en Barcelona”,produced by “La Fura dels Baus”.

   In the Teatre Lliure, Barcelona, she performed in Wolf-Ferrari’s “Il Segreto di Susana”. In the same theater she also sang in Rossini’s “L’Occasione fa il Ladro”, co-produced by the Liceu, under the artistic direction of Rafel Duran and the musical direction of Josep Pons.She has also performed “l’Occasione fa il ladro” in the Teatro Calderon in Valladolid,with Álvaro Albiach, Musical Director.

In the Arriaga Opera House, Bilbao, she sang the role of “Nella” in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi and performed in Tomás Bretón’s “La Verbena de la Paloma”, directed by Álvaro Albiach and “Comediants”.

   In La Maestranza, Seville, she sang the role of “Bersi” in Giordano’s “Andrea Chénier” with Fabio Armiliato, Giovanna Casolla and Viorica Cortez,directed by Giancarlo del Monaco and Renato Palumbo.

   In The Campoamor Opera Theather, Oviedo, she sang the role of  “Dame IV” in Richard Strauss’Elektra.  

   Ms.Casas’operatic repertoire also includes Donizetti’s Lucia di Lamermoor, L’Elisir d’Amore, La Rita and various productions of Don Pasquale,Puccini’s La Boheme (Mussetta),Menotti’s The Telephone,Lehar’s The Merry Widow, Toldrà’s El Giravolt de Maig and M. Valls’ Cançó d’Amor i de Guerra.

    She has performed in the Torroella de Montgrí Music Festival with Jaume Aragall and Vicenç Sardinero. In the Músic Festival of  Peralada she has sung Bizet’s Carmen (Frasquita) with Roberto Alagna and Angela Gheorghiu under the artistic direction of Calixto Bieito and musical direction of G.Noseda, as well as Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi (Nella) directed by J.A.
